This September the local Carcassonne distributor organizes Latvian championship to define the best player of the year and this lucky man will go to Essen at Carcassonne WC! I also will do my best to become that lucky man so now I need to train myself hardly :)

Thank you for support!
I don't have final decision yet, but I am thinking to go to Essen regardless of results of national championship. Of course, it would be much better to go there in the "winner" rank, but I think, at least once, everyone who is interested in boardgames must go there.

Thank you, kettlefish!
Yes, indeed, the training was very good! From overall 11 games (basic set) I personally took part in 8 and had 6 wins. For now I feel that I am ready :) Although, I can't always beat the computer on 10th (maximum) level. Some things remain on the Luck side.

Latvia has got new Carcassonne champion!

Unfortunately, it's not me :( But I am at the second place from 44 participants. I lost only two times: one in preliminary round and the finals, both to the new champion.

Anyway, in few days I will inform about my plans visiting Essen.

Oh no!
That's too bad! :(

But on the other hand you can say, that you have only lost against the champion. ;)
And the second place is also very, very good!!!

Looking forward to Essen. Perhaps we could meet us there on Thursday.
Please let us (or me) know, if you need some help in finding a place to stay (hotel or s.th. like this).

So, we will meet you in Essen on Thursday, too!
That's good! We're looking forward to meet you personally.

Hi MrNumbers,
I am sorry, that you are not the winner of the national contest,
but to be the second is great too.

We will see us in Essen - there you will meet us from the forums and you will also meet the HiG-Team...

At CarcL is a great interview with the winner of the national champion of Latvia.
With Google translator you can read and understand the most of the interview.
