Hello all,

The Carcassonne Central forum has been down for a while now, but I think it's important that everyone who wants it still has access to the current version of the (English) Complete Annotated Rules for Carcassonne.

To get the pdf file, simply go to the link http://www.mediafire.com/view/?6wkcvknm3mgdlzw .

I am also working on an updated version, and I will post a link to it when it's ready.

At the CarcassonneCentral forum we have the CAR - "Carcassonne - The Complete Annotated Rules".
In the past Matt Harper was working on this. Obervet03 started this year with the CAR 6.0. I'm helping Obervet03 with the correction reading of the rules for the next coming CAR 6.2 and what I already did for the current CAR 6.1.

Here are some links to the new rules and clarifications for the next coming CAR 6.2:

Changes in the rules - BigBox4
Mage and Witch
The Gold Mines
The Ferries
(Obervet03 did the correction reading for the translation)

We have also finished the translation and correction reading for the new expansions:
The Windroses
The Little Buildings
here the original rule from Spielbox
The Gingerbread Man
here the translation by Carcking

And also the response of my meeting at Essen with HiG is finished
Robbers - Catapult - Dragon - Barn + Pig - Festival

The Count of Carcassonne

The rule in the CAR 6.1 - Page 39 - is wrong (it's an old rule).
Whenever a city, road or cloister is completed in which at least one player scores points, but the player placing the final tile does not, this player may deploy one follower from his or her supply to a city quarter of his or her choice...
BigBox2 - English
When a player places a tile that causes at least one of his opponents to score at least 1 point while the placing
player scores nothing, the placing player, at the end of his turn, may place one follower from his supply on the
city quarter of his choice......

This correction will also come in the next CAR 6.2

Mage & Witch - Mini 5
CAR6.1 - Footnote 364
Portions of this paragraph are quite unclear in the original German and need further
clarification. Based on most parts of the rules, it seems that only one figure is moved for each mage
tile placement. What we know: If neither figure is in play, the active player brings one into play. If
both figures are in play, the player moves one of the figures to a different feature. What we don’t
know: What if only one figure is in play? Does the player choose one or the other to move? Both?
Given the use of the word “must”, it seems that the one in play has to be moved, while movement of
the other is optional. Further help is needed.
I also talked with HiG - Georg Wild and Christof Tisch - at Spiel 2012 in Essen about the Mage & Witch:
Only one (1) figure (Mage or Witch) is moving or placing.

1. both figures are not in play – only one figure (Mage or Witch) is placing to come in play.
2. one figure is not in play and the other figure is already in play:
The player has the choice to move or to place one (1) figure (that means not both figures).
That means the player can move a figure (that one what is already in play) or can place a figure (that one what is not yet in play).
It is not necessary that then both figures are then in play.
If the player moves a figure (that one what is already in play) – the other figure still stays outside the play.
3. both figures are already in play – only one figure (Mage or Witch) is moving from one tile to an other tile.

Some words from Obervet03:

"Hopefully by the end of today I will have the new CAR posted here (CarcassonneCentral), at Maik's Carcassonne-Forum, and at BGG."
